The only charge will be for hosting, which is $20 per month, billed quarterly. It includes up to one hour per month for changes / updates. Naturally, at this price we don’t do anything fancy. If you want a highly customized website, this is not the service for you. However, most small business don’t need a fancy website. They just need something simple that gets decent Google rankings. We Will Use WordPress – The Most Popular Website Builder
We will use WordPress to build your website. It is the most popular program for creation of websites. Nearly half of all websites are built with WordPress. There are an astounding number of WordPress themes available. Some are free and ones that aren’t free typically cost 59 dollars. We see no reason for most small business to pay for themes. We use the free version of the Astra theme for the following reasons:
- It is search engine optimization friendly, which will with your Google rankings.
- It is relatively easy to learn. You may want to learn how to make simple changes to the website yourself.
- It is not loaded with a lot of fancy features that are not needed. These can slow down the loading of your website, which is a factor that Google uses in calculating its search engine rankings.
What We Will Need from You to Build Your Site
To build your website, we will need material from you. We don’t know your business so you will need to provide us with text and images. If you don’t have images, we can use copyright free images from Pixabay and other sources, but it’s always better if you have your own images.
When it comes to text, we have to get material from you. This can come from your marketing material, advertisements, newspaper articles or whatever. If you don’t have anything written down, we can interview you and try to come up with material.
How Many Pages Will a Cheap Website Design Have?
That will depend on how much material we get from you. To get good search engine rankings, a page should have at least 500 words. Having around two thousand words would be even better. To improve your rankings, one should continuously add material to it. Ideally, each new page should target a new keyword phrase. If you look at the MGA Concrete page, it currently has only two pages (1/13/22). At some point, we will probably add individual pages for the different types of work that Miguel does. For instance, we could add a page about concrete steps. It would have lots of photos of steps that he has constructed and show all the different types he can build. It might also include testimonials from previous customers.
We generally launch a website with one to four pages, but we always like to continue adding to it over time.
Will It Actually Attract Visitors?
Cheap website design can attract visitors. When most people have a website built, they focus on making it pretty. We’re amazed how often we have to ask people, “If your website if beautiful but nobody finds it, what good is it?” It’s far more important to do your keyword research and identify a good keyword followed by building a functional website with information that will interest people. We make sure there are no errors like duplicate text, low text pages, broken links or missing alt tags on your website that will harm your Google rankings.
